Job summary

Leonardo UK in Edinburgh seeks an experienced Software Engineer to develop radar software for a niche defence programme. You will use Ada, C++ and Python in a small team, delivering robust code with full documentation and progress reporting.

You will work onsite in Edinburgh, contribute to the full software lifecycle, and collaborate with systems, integration and test teams on challenging requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience with the full Software Development Lifecycle.
• Ability to work autonomously within a small multi-disciplinary team.
• Willingness to work onsite at Edinburgh and contribute to a niche radar software context.
• Experience or interest in Ada, C++, Python or related languages.
• Experience developing software for embedded systems in regulated industries.

Responsibilities

• Develop software across the full lifecycle using Ada, C++ and Python.
• Produce high-quality, well-documented code under configuration management.
• Deliver progress reports and technical presentations to stakeholders.
• Work with software, systems and integration teams to resolve issues.
• Contribute to software design, architecture discussions and testing.
