Job summary

Leonardo UK Ltd. is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to develop software for the Typhoon programme. You will work on the full software lifecycle, using Ada, and be based on-site in Edinburgh or Newcastle with a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires autonomy at senior level, SLDC experience, and willingness to work in a defence/aerospace environment. Security clearance may apply, with BPSS screening.

Qualifications

• Experience with the full Software Development Lifecycle.
• Willingness to work in a small multidisciplinary Integrated Project Team.
• Experience in defence/aerospace contexts is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop software across the full lifecycle.
• Program in Ada and related tools.
• Work onsite in Edinburgh or Newcastle offices.
• Document work products and manage them under configuration control.
• Produce technical reports and presentations to stakeholders.
• Follow project plans and identify key milestones.
• Report progress to team lead and management.
• Collaborate with Software & Systems and rooflab integration teams to resolve integration issues.
