Job summary

Leonardo UK Ltd in Edinburgh seeks a Lead Electronics Engineer to own the electronics design, integration and testing of a key radar array subsystem for GCAP. You will lead a small team, manage work packages, and ensure certification and documentation are robust throughout the lifecycle.

You will develop plans for subsystem integration, collaborate across engineering disciplines, and mentor junior engineers in a fast-paced, high-impact defence project.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electronics Engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Expert-level proficiency in analogue, mixed-signal, digital or power electronics.
• Experience with industry standard toolsets and lab measurement techniques for complex electronics.
• Experience in team leadership and work package management.
• Strong coaching and interpersonal skills within a development team.
• Knowledge of developing electronics within a formal development process.
• Experience across most design lifecycle stages from requirements to delivery.
• Ability to collaborate across Mechanical, Firmware, Software, Manufacturing and Layout teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the electronics design, integration and test of the radar array subsystem.
• Provide technical leadership for design engineers and manage the electronics work package.
• Develop plans for subsystem integration and verification.
• Contribute to integration and verification plans for LRI.
• Produce design review material and chair reviews within the hardware design process.
• Mentor junior team members and support ongoing professional development.
