Job summary

Ross-Shire Engineering Limited is seeking a Senior Site Manager to lead delivery on UK Water projects. You will report to the Project Manager and own safety, programme, quality and cost, ensuring client and company expectations are met.

The role requires a fully qualified Civil trade, SMSTS and First Aid at Work, with proven leadership and the ability to manage interfaces with site teams, subcontractors and clients. Accommodation is provided.

Qualifications

• Time served and fully qualified in a relevant Civil trade (City & Guilds, MA or equivalent).
• SMSTS (Mandatory).
• First Aid at Work (Mandatory).
• Proven leadership, delegation and team management skills.
• Ability to work safely and promote a positive health, safety and environmental culture.
• Highly organised with the ability to prioritise competing workloads and deadlines.
• Confident interfacing with site teams, subcontractors, designers and clients.
• Strong knowledge of CDM 2015 and NEC contract principles.
• Commercial awareness with cost control, forecasting and change management.
• Ability to interpret, extract and communicate programme-related information.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing day-to-day delivery of site activities and directing trade operatives and subcontractors.
• Promote a safe working environment with visible safety leadership.
• Ensure activities comply with Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality Management requirements.
• Plan, organise and monitor works to meet programmes, budgets and quality standards.
• Manage and coordinate temporary works with necessary designs, approvals and permits.
• Maintain and update project programmes including six-week look-ahead plans.
• Collaborate with Project Manager and Commercial Team to monitor costs and variations.
• Lead regular site meetings and follow up on actions and outstanding items.
• Keep site documentation accurate and ready for inspection.
• Update Project Manager on progress, risks and resource needs.
