Job summary

Travail Employment Group is seeking a hands-on Service Engineer for flow measurement and diagnostic equipment, based in Wellingborough. You will repair advanced products, investigate customer complaints, and manage warranty claims to improve reliability and customer satisfaction.

The role requires proven electro-mechanical experience, strong fault-finding skills, and the ability to produce clear technical reports.

Qualifications

Time-served engineering apprenticeship with Level 3 qualification (HNC Level 4 desirable).
Strong electro-mechanical fault-finding and service experience.
Experience using automated configuration/diagnostic tools.
Proficient with Word and Excel.
Experience with ERP systems (Infor/SAP).
High attention to detail and good organisational skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Customer-focused and deadline-driven.

Responsibilities

Conduct technical investigations, fault diagnosis and non-destructive disassembly.
Support repair, calibration and warranty processes.
Produce clear technical reports with root-cause analysis.
Liaise with engineering specialists to validate findings.
Use diagnostic tools and bespoke control systems (ERPLN, QSYS, OMETA).
Provide technical support to customers and internal teams.
Collaborate across departments to improve reliability and service.
Participate in 8D, PFMEA and RCA problem-solving activities.
Share knowledge and train the service team.
