What we’re looking for:
We’re seeking a skilled practitioner with significant experience in delivering service design projects. Your role will focus on creating end-to-end, evidence-based, inclusive, accessible, and planet-friendly services. You’ll often work with multidisciplinary teams on complex projects where autonomy and project management are key.
We value individuals who champion our core values: caring passionately, being fluent in people, believing in your craft, pushing conventions, being open to change, and valuing each other. You will also play a key role in championing our user-centred design (UCD) approach, especially when working with clients new to UCD.
We’re interested in candidates with skills or experience in some of the following areas:
We collaborate with central and local government, NHS, charities, and private organizations. Sometimes embedded in client teams, moving across sectors every 3-12 months to diversify experience. Our weekly team meet-ups foster shared learning, and we work closely with user research and digital teams. Senior team members support your wellbeing, goal-setting, and feedback.
We welcome applicants from all backgrounds. The minimum requirement is a degree or professional experience relevant to service design.
Candidates must demonstrate right to work in the UK; evidence required. Offers are subject to vetting, references, health checks, and possibly a DBS check. NEC is an equal opportunities employer committed to inclusivity. Please share any accessibility needs during recruitment.
Part of NEC Corporation, our software supports emergency services, healthcare, transportation, and more. Our work helps improve public services and makes a difference worldwide. We’re excited to have your help and will support you throughout the process.
Application instructions include submitting a CV, cover letter, and a project presentation demonstrating your qualifications. We look forward to your application!
