Job summary

Southwark Council is seeking a Senior Service Design Lead to drive service design across major transformation programmes. You will work with residents, service teams and stakeholders to uncover needs and design practical solutions that improve outcomes and value for money.

As part of the Change Team within Strategy & Communities, you will shape design-led transformation, strengthen council capability and deliver tangible improvements in resident experience and service quality.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading service design within complex organisations, ideally local government or public sector.
• Strong track record redesigning services to improve resident outcomes and efficiency.
• Expertise across the service design lifecycle: discovery, journeys, blueprints, prototyping, implementation.

Responsibilities

• Lead service design activity across major transformation programmes and complex services.
• Collaborate with residents, service teams and stakeholders to understand needs and opportunities.
• Develop future service models, user journeys, blueprints and operating processes.
