Job summary

Veolia in Hinckley is seeking a Senior Service Coordinator to lead day-to-day service delivery, allocate routes, and support driver performance. You will coordinate with customers and stakeholders, ensure safety and compliance, and drive KPI improvements from on-site operations in a busy logistics environment.

The role requires strong communication, organisational skills and a valid UK driving licence, with a focus on waste/transport/logistics supervision and adherence to WTD regulations.

Qualifications

• Clear communication with drivers, customers and colleagues at all levels.
• Ability to prioritise a busy workload and maintain pace.
• Valid UK driving license is essential.
• Experience in waste/transport/logistics at supervisory level.
• Understanding of transport compliance and Working Time Directive (WTD).

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day management of service delivery and allocation of work to vehicles/routes.
• Communicate with customers and stakeholders, provide status updates and maintain driver contact.
• Oversee completion of debriefs with frontline staff and report actions.
• Engage with drivers face-to-face to address route issues.
• Report safety concerns or container damage and stop work if unsafe.
• Support Operations Manager with Veolia compliance on-site (WTD, O-licence, transport rules).
• Drive continuous improvement on KPI performance.
• Direct reporting line for all drivers and Service Coordinators.

What you'll be doing;

• Day-to-day management of service delivery, including the dynamic allocation of work to vehicles/routes
• Communicating with customers and stakeholders, providing status updates and maintaining contact with drivers
• Managing completion of all debriefs with front-line staff and reporting necessary actions or updates as required
• Face-to-face engagement with drivers, supporting them to address any issues on the route
• Reporting of all safety concerns or container damage and encouraging ‘stop the job’ if it is deemed unsafe to continue
• Supporting Operations Manager with Veolia legal compliance on-site (WTD, O’licence and transport compliance)
• Responsible for driving continuous improvement on KPI performance.
• Being responsible for direct reporting line for all drivers and Service Coordinators

What we're looking for;

• Good communication skills, including communicating with people of all levels, including drivers, frontline employees and customers
• Ability to organise a busy workload and operate at a fast pace
• UK Driving licence
• Previous experience operating within a similar industry, waste/transport/logistics at a Supervisory level
• Able to demonstrate an understanding of transport compliance and WTD
