Job summary

Veolia ES (UK) Ltd is recruiting a driver to join our waste collection team in Durham. You will drive to planned collection locations, move and empty multiple containers, and ensure daily paperwork is up to date.

Hours are 48 per week, Monday to Friday with early starts at 4am and finish by 14:00. The role offers a competitive salary of around £41,429 per annum plus benefits and a range of employee wellbeing and development programmes.

Qualifications

• Valid UK driving licence required.
• Experience in waste collection or similar driving role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive to planned collection locations and move/empty multiple commercial waste containers.
• Ensure all information is input into the onboard system and paperwork is kept up to date daily.
• Perform daily vehicle checks in line with operator handbook.
• Comply with traffic laws and weight limits for loads.
• Keep carriageway clean and tidy; clean up any spillages.

What you’ll be doing;

• Driving to planned collection locations and moving / emptying multiple commercial waste containers
• Ensuring all information is input into the onboard system and all paperwork is kept up to date and submitted daily
• Completing daily checks of the vehicle as per our driver operator handbook
• Complying with all traffic laws and legislation including and weight of loads
• Ensuring that the carriageway is left in a clean condition and any spillages are cleaned up
