Job summary

St Mary’s and St John’s CofE School invites applications for an outstanding SENDCo to lead and develop SEND provision across the primary phases.

You will work with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team to drive school improvement, oversee behaviour management, safeguarding, and coordinate healthcare plans, Looked After Pupils, and staff training. This role requires collaboration with parents and colleagues to ensure high-quality learning for all pupils.

Qualifications

• Qualified teachers with SEND and safeguarding experience.
• Knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and school improvement.
• Ability to lead adaptive teaching across the school.

Responsibilities

• To support behaviour management across the school.
• To professionally lead and manage SEND in accordance with the SEND Code of Practice.
• To lead safeguarding across the school with a focus on vulnerable groups.
• To lead, develop and maintain high quality SEN provision enabling quality teaching and learning outcomes.
• To model effective teaching, coach and train colleagues and teach across the school.
• To keep paperwork and policies up-to-date for SEND and safeguarding.
• To contribute to whole academy policy development.
• To ensure a wide range of support for children with SEMH.
• To ensure opportunities for all children to have positive playtimes with appropriate equipment.
• Lead on performance management for teaching assistants.
• Coordinate Healthcare Plans (IHPs) for students with medical needs and liaise with parents and staff.
