Job summary

Lower Meadow Academy is seeking an inspirational SENDCo to lead and develop our SEND provision. You will work with academy leaders, staff, families and external agencies to shape provision across the academy and ensure high standards of support for all learners.

We are looking for an experienced teacher with a strong SEND background, capable of coordinating identification, reviews and EHCP processes, and driving inclusive practice across the school.

Qualifications

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Strong understanding of SEND legislation and the SEND Code of Practice.
  • Experience in a primary setting.
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND to progress academically and personally.
  • Ability to use assessment information to plan, monitor and evaluate provision.
  • Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the academy's SEND provision, ensuring compliance with the SEND Code of Practice and Equality Act 2010.
  • Oversee the identification, assessment, monitoring and review of pupils with SEND, including maintaining an accurate SEND register.
  • Coordinate and monitor provision for pupils with SEND, including EHCPs.
  • Lead annual reviews, EHCP applications and referrals, ensuring statutory requirements and timescales are met.
  • Provide expert advice, guidance and training to colleagues to promote inclusive teaching and learning.
  • Work with parents, carers, external agencies and Trust colleagues to secure the best outcomes for pupils.
  • Analyse pupil progress and SEND data to evaluate interventions and inform strategic improvement planning.
  • Champion an inclusive culture where pupils with SEND are fully supported and engaged.
