A leading international university is seeking a Senior Security Officer to oversee campus safety and lead a dedicated team of Security Officers. In this role, you will respond to emergencies, conduct incident investigations, and ensure a welcoming atmosphere for the university community. The ideal candidate must possess strong communication and leadership skills, along with a full UK driving license and readiness for SIA licensing. Training will be provided for necessary certifications.

We’re looking for a Senior Security Officer to join our team and help keep our campus community safe, supported and thriving.
This is an exciting leadership role at an international University in the City of Bath, ideal for an experienced security professional who is committed to supporting, guiding and protecting staff, students and visitors in a Higher Education setting.
The position is highly customer-focused, requiring you to lead a team of Security Officers while also taking charge during emergencies, welfare incidents, first aid situations, alarm activations and a range of critical events. You will be a visible, approachable presence across campus, helping to maintain a safe, supportive and welcoming environment for the entire University community.
You will supervise and motivate your team, provide regular briefings, handle performance and training needs, carry out incident investigations, support emergency services, preserve evidence, write accurate incident reports, be responsible for CCTV use, building access, patrols, key control, and assist University staff and students with urgent concerns. No two shifts are the same, and this varied, hands-on role allows you to make a real difference every day.

The position covers the main University campus and University buildings off site.
The basic working week is 36.5 hours + 2 hours contracted overtime, worked as part of a 24/7, 365-day, 12-hour rotating shift pattern with a 15% shift allowance.
During periods of staff shortage, you may be required to work with other Campus teams or cover alternative shifts.
The appointment will be made subject to an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check.
Uniform and all relevant training (SIA, FAAW, MHFA, CCTV) will be provided.
