Job summary

Jewson Dalkeith is seeking a proactive Sales Specialist to join our team. The role focuses on building strong relationships with customers, understanding requirements, and delivering excellent service across construction and merchanting sectors.

You will upsell, prepare quotations, and work closely with suppliers to provide informed recommendations and timely orders. A customer-first mindset and strong communication are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Experience in merchanting, construction or distribution
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Proactive sales approach with ability to identify opportunities
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Experience in sales or customer service within merchanting/construction

Responsibilities

• Build strong relationships with new, existing and lapsed customers.
• Understand customer requirements and recommend building materials and solutions.
• Identify opportunities to increase sales through upselling and cross-selling.
• Prepare quotations, process orders and ensure timely fulfilment.
• Develop product knowledge by working with suppliers and manufacturers.
• Provide expert product advice and practical solutions to customers.
• Advise customers on pricing, trading terms, credit facilities and account management.
• Deliver outstanding customer experience on every interaction.
• Support branch objectives and contribute to team success.
