Job summary

Jewson Dalkeith is seeking a proactive Sales Specialist to join our team. The role focuses on building strong relationships with customers, understanding requirements, and delivering excellent service across construction and merchanting sectors.

You will upsell, prepare quotations, and work closely with suppliers to provide informed recommendations and timely orders. A customer-first mindset and strong communication are essential for success.

Responsibilities

• Build strong relationships with new, existing and lapsed customers.

• Develop product knowledge by working with suppliers and manufacturers.
• Provide expert product advice and practical solutions to customers.
• Advise customers on pricing, trading terms, credit facilities and account management.
• Deliver outstanding customer experience on every interaction.
• Support branch objectives and contribute to team success.

Job description

Jewson Dalkeith (EH22 1RZ) is looking for a proactive and customer-focused Sales Specialist to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in merchanting, construction, industrial distribution or another B2B sales environment who enjoys building relationships, identifying opportunities and delivering outstanding customer service.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday: 7:30am to 5:00pm Alternate Saturdays: 8:00am to 12:00pm

What You Will Be Doing

• Building strong relationships with new, existing and lapsed customers.
• Understanding customer requirements and recommending the right building materials and solutions.
• Identifying opportunities to increase sales through upselling and cross-selling.
• Preparing quotations, processing orders and ensuring they are fulfilled accurately and on time.
• Developing your product knowledge by working closely with suppliers and manufacturers.
• Providing expert product advice and practical solutions to customers.
• Advising customers on pricing, trading terms, credit facilities and account management.
• Delivering an outstanding customer experience on every interaction.
• Supporting branch objectives and contributing to the overall success of the team.

• Industrial or trade distribution environment

You Will Also Have

• Previous sales or customer service experience within the merchanting, construction or distribution sector.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• A proactive approach with the ability to identify and secure sales opportunities.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Confidence using IT systems and communicating with customers over the telephone.
• A positive attitude and a genuine passion for delivering excellent customer service.
