A leading property management organization in Greater London is looking for a Senior Safety First Manager to support regeneration projects and ensure health and safety standards are met. You will lead safety strategies, provide essential HSEQ advice, and work closely with stakeholders to manage risks. Qualifications

Senior Safety First Manager - Regeneration & Partnerships

Purpose of the role

Support regeneration and development projects in Urban (and Marine, if needed).

Help teams and partners adopt a “Safety First” approach

Work with stakeholders early to manage risks and improve health and safety

Use expertise and innovation to make projects safer and more efficient

Main Accountabilities
  • Lead and implement the Safety First strategy
  • Provide health, safety, environment, and quality (HSEQ) advice for regeneration projects
  • Help teams identify and consult with key stakeholders to manage community health, safety, and environmental risks
  • Ensure health (including mental health) is prioritised alongside safety in all projects
  • Make sure all projects comply with health, safety, security, and environmental laws
  • Maintain and improve management systems to meet UK legal requirements
  • Integrate HSEQ requirements into business processes and manuals
  • Identify training needs for staff involved in land acquisition and development, and ensure training is provided
  • Plan and monitor land acquisition and development to align with Safety First goals
  • Report on performance and progress for development activities
  • Ensure quality management and occupational health are prioritised in all projects
  • Use technical expertise to improve risk management in development projects.
  • Promote quality management and leadership within development teams.
  • Use networks and expertise to find ways to make project processes more efficient and reliable.
  • Introduce technical and digital innovations to improve project safety and efficiency.
  • Set standards and provide direction for major projects and land acquisition.
  • Encourage innovation and efficiency in design processes.
  • Improve long-term health outcomes through technical approaches in design.
  • Benchmark health data and ensure minimum standards in occupational health and hygiene.
  • Develop strategies to reduce occupational health and safety risks.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and standards.
  • Develop standards for health surveillance across property lifecycles.
  • Work with design teams to reduce biological hazards in operations.
  • Apply risk management methods (like HAZOP and Bow Tie) to projects.
  • Provide training and ensure investigations for incidents are carried out.
  • Use reliability engineering to improve project safety and performance.
  • Develop and maintain quality assurance programmes.
  • Analyse reliability and predict failures to prevent breakdowns.
  • Manage and develop team members.
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with supply chain partners.
  • Work with the HSEQ Director to set priorities and review plans as business needs change
Knowledge, experience & skills
  • Relevant health and safety qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH).
  • Experience in improving efficiency and reducing risk in land acquisition and development.
  • Experience with digital innovation in development projects.
  • Knowledge of quality and document management.
  • Experience in regeneration and large regional projects.
  • Experience in high-hazard environments is a plus.
  • Experience in residential, commercial, and life sciences land acquisition.
  • Expertise in Principal Designer and Client CDM duties.
  • Experience in community engagement and stakeholder management.
  • Ability to train others in best practices.
  • Experience with BIM, HAZOP, Bow Tie, and root cause analysis.
  • Ability to analyse reliability and predict failures
