Job summary
ARX is seeking a Senior Safety Engineer to embed safety and reliability principles across autonomous ground systems. You will shape engineering practices from design to deployment, collaborating across hardware, software, and systems teams to identify risks and build resilient, mission-ready products.
Work involves applying FMEA/FTA, defining safety requirements, and driving reviews to improve system integrity.
Qualifications
- Experience in safety and reliability engineering for complex products.
- Familiarity with safety standards (ISO 12100, MIL-STD-882E, IEC 61508).
- Ability to apply FMEA/FTA to real-world systems.
Responsibilities
- Shape safety and reliability strategies for core system development.
- Conduct FMEA/FTA to strengthen designs.
- Define and trace critical safety requirements across architectures.
- Lead safety and reliability reviews to improve design integrity.
- Identify failure modes and implement mitigation strategies.
- Use data and field reports for data-driven safety improvements.
- Develop maintenance concepts to extend system life.
- Lead root-cause investigations and corrective actions.
