Job summary

AeroVect is transforming ground handling with autonomous software and hardware platforms. We seek a Senior SW Safety Engineer to drive core safety lifecycle tasks across perception, planning, and control, ensuring safety requirements are integrated, tested, and verifiable.

You will derive SSRs/TSRs and contribute to safety cases for deployment. Requires 5+ years in autonomous/safety roles, strong C++/Python ability, and a background in ISO 26262, DO-178C/DO-254, or IEC 61508.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in safety engineering for autonomous systems or related domains.
• Strong familiarity with ISO 26262 and system safety lifecycles.
• Proficient in C++ and Python; able to review safety-critical code.
• Able to work under mentorship in a high-velocity agile team.

Responsibilities

• Perform hazard identification and risk assessments (HARA, FMEA, FTA, STPA) for autonomous software and hardware.
• Derive, specify, and trace SSRs/FSRs/TSRs for supervised and driverless autonomy.
• Collaborate with systems, software, robotics, hardware, and test teams to ensure safety requirements are integrated and verifiable.
• Assist in building safety case artifacts and verification evidence for deployment.
