Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Principal Safety and Reliability Engineering Consultant to provide technical leadership on complex, safety-critical projects across asset life cycles. You will guide safety and reliability activities, develop safety cases, and support project delivery while mentoring junior consultants.

You will chair HAZID/HAZOP workshops, perform FMECA/FTA/ETA analyses, and ensure compliance with relevant standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, mathematics or another relevant numerate discipline.
Significant experience in a system safety, reliability, risk engineering or safety assurance role within safety-critical or mission-critical industries.
Strong working knowledge of safety risk assessment, reliability assessment and ES management techniques.
Experience developing safety risk and reliability models using RAM techniques (RBDS, FTA, ETA).
Experience chairing or contributing to HAZID/HAZOP workshops.
Knowledge of standards like CSM, RO RG S, BS EN 50126/28/29.
Proactive, solution-driven with strong communication.

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership across safety, reliability and risk assurance on complex projects.
Lead and chair structured risk assessment workshops (HAZID/HAZOP).
Develop safety cases, hazard reports and RAM plans for project lifecycle.
Support bids, proposals and work-winning activities in safety, risk and reliability services.
Coach and mentor junior consultants and grow the team’s capability.
