ARX Robotics is seeking a Staff Safety Engineer to ensure our autonomous unmanned ground platforms are safe, reliable, and maintainable from design to deployment. You will guide hardware, software, and systems teams, embedding resilience at every layer and shaping the safety culture across the organization.

You will lead rigorous analyses, establish traceable requirements, and mentor engineers to advance safety best practices in a dynamic, defense-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years significant hands-on experience in safety and reliability engineering for complex products.
• Deep, applied expertise in FMEA, FTA, and other risk analysis methodologies.
• Experience with mission-critical systems where failure is not an option.
• Practical knowledge of safety standards (ISO 13849, MIL-STD-882E, IEC 61508) and how to apply them.

Responsabilités

• Build a comprehensive safety and reliability function for core system development programs.
• Lead rigorous safety analyses (FMEA/FMECA, FTA) with clear, actionable insights for engineering teams.
• Ensure traceable safety and reliability requirements throughout the system architecture.
• Shape design with structured assessments to mitigate risks before issues arise.
• Identify failure modes and craft mitigation strategies to reduce operational risk.
• Develop data-driven mitigation approaches to improve field performance and readiness.
• Mentor engineers and promote safety-first practices across the organization.
