Southampton City Council is seeking an experienced Repairs Manager to lead the Responsive Repairs team within Housing Works. You will manage a multi-trade group across 16,000+ council properties, ensuring high-quality repairs, performance monitoring and compliance.

The role requires strong people management, safety oversight, and excellent stakeholder communication, with daily site-based work in Southampton. A relevant management qualification and a UK driving license are essential.

Formación

• Experience managing trades and multidisciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of CDM, HHSRS and health and safety regulations.
• Willingness to develop professional competence where required.

Responsabilidades

• Manage a team of trades from different disciplines
• Overseeing the management of Trade diaries
• Visiting tenants and dealing with telephone, face to face and email queries
• Investigate complaints including those from Councillors, MPs and Ombudsman
• Supporting the other managers within the service
• Managing the health, safety and welfare of staff and customers
• Managing small and large more complex repairs
• Delivering aspects of cyclical maintenance and compliance
• Accountable for managing budgets, forecasting and compiling expenditure reports
• Accountable for managing contractor and staff performance including KPI's
• Dealing with day-to-day matters, contract management / management of sub-contractors whilst working in conjunction with other teams and departments in order to meet deadlines
• Quality control / quality assurance checks and carrying out site-based inspections and reporting
• Supporting/working with fellow Responsive Repairs Managers and other Managers across the Council
