Job summary

National Highways is seeking a Senior Network Planner - Resilience to lead the development of resilience, emergency and severe weather response plans. The role requires strong leadership, stakeholder management and expertise in risk and contingency planning.

The position is hybrid, based from Bristol or Exeter, with travel required and a focus on safeguarding customer journeys through proactive planning and effective crisis response.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and understanding of the Civil Contingency Act 2004 (desirable)
• Experience creating/developing response plans including managing debriefs (desirable)
• Ability to implement crisis management procedures and policies

Responsibilities

• Lead development of resilience, emergency and severe weather response plans.
• Develop processes and procedures adopting best practice and intelligence insights.
• Liaise with regional Operations and external stakeholders to minimise impact of events on customers.
• Manage Network Resilience funding and identify schemes aligned to risk.
• Provide advisory support to minimise operational impact during emergencies.
