Job summary

Wrexham County Borough Council is seeking a highly organised Work Planner to join the Responsive & Planned Repairs service within Landlord Services. You will schedule emergency repairs, daily maintenance and planned works to tenants, ensuring operatives are fully utilised and customers receive a high-quality, responsive service.

You will liaise with tenants, manage appointment times, and coordinate with Housing Service Centre and Site Agents to deliver a seamless repairs experience.

Qualifications

• ONC in Business Studies or equivalent qualification.
• Experience of repairs and maintenance operations, ideally within a housing environment.
• Experience of planning and scheduling work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organisational and coordination skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and scheduling systems.
• Knowledge: understanding of repairs processes, materials, and service delivery within tenanted properties.
• Experience of using Opti-time, Project Planner, and Orchard systems.
• Knowledge of the Wrexham County Borough area.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and programme repairs and maintenance for tenanted properties to maximise operatives' deployment.
• Respond to emergencies by redeploying operatives quickly to minimise disruption.
• Liaise with tenants, provide appointment updates and manage expectations.
• Allocate work based on operatives' skills and availability for productivity.
• Coordinate daily activities and plan follow-on works to meet timescales.
• Monitor workloads and adjust plans to maintain service standards.
• Record job details and variations in scheduling systems accurately.
• Manage operatives' diaries including annual leave and sickness.
• Collaborate with Housing Service Centre and Site Agents for a seamless service.
