Job summary

Dudley Council is seeking a Reactive Repairs Planner to join the Housing Maintenance Team. You will schedule and coordinate repairs across the borough, ensuring appointments are kept and operatives are fully utilised. The role requires experience in housing repairs and strong customer-facing communication.

The successful candidate will work onsite five days a week, 8:00–17:00, with a focus on delivering high-quality service and right-first-time outcomes. Right to work in the UK is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in housing repairs, maintenance or social housing.
• Proven scheduling, planning and allocating works to operatives/contractors.
• Strong customer service experience in front-line environment.
• Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage changing priorities and work under pressure.
• Experience using ICT systems to manage repair orders and workforce planning.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and allocate reactive repairs to maximise productivity and service performance.
• Manage operative diaries, workloads and resource availability.
• Monitor repair progress and resolve scheduling conflicts.
• Coordinate materials, specialist resources and contractor support to ensure appointments are kept.
• Respond to urgent and emergency repair requests.
• Act as a key point of contact for customers and colleagues, providing updates and resolving queries.
• Utilise housing and workforce management systems to maintain records and monitor performance.
• Support delivery of key performance indicators and customer service standards.
