Niyaa People is recruiting a Repairs Planner for a Stockport-based housing team on a temporary-to-permanent basis. The role focuses on coordinating repairs from initial notification through to completion, with potential progression to a permanent position after a successful temporary period.

You will manage repair requests, arrange inspections, monitor progress and ensure timely follow-up in line with Awaab’s Law requirements and statutory timescales.

Qualifications

  • Experience in administration, repairs coordination, housing or similar process-driven environment.
  • Willingness to learn about damp and mould, Awaab’s Law and housing repairs processes.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate incoming repair requests and manage repairs inbox.
  • Raise repair jobs and schedule inspections and appointments.
  • Coordinate with inspectors, contractors, residents and housing teams.
  • Monitor repairs from report to completion and track progress.
  • Ensure actions are completed within statutory timescales and internal processes.
  • Maintain accurate records and update systems; progress and close cases.
  • Identify delays or issues in the repairs process and escalate as needed.
  • Provide admin support to the housing repairs team.

Job description

We are currently recruiting for a Repairs Planner to join a Stockport-based housing team on a temporary-to-permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and proactive individual looking to build a long-term career within a housing repairs environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating housing repairs from initial notification through to completion, with the opportunity to move into a permanent position following a successful temporary period.

You will manage incoming repair requests, arrange inspections and works, monitor progress and ensure outstanding actions are followed up within required timescales.

This is a busy, process-driven role suited to someone who is highly organised, proactive and confident managing multiple repairs, cases and deadlines.

Key Responsibilities of a Repairs Planner
  • Manage the repairs inbox and coordinate incoming repair requests.
  • Raise repair jobs and schedule inspections and appointments.
  • Coordinate with inspectors, contractors, residents and internal housing teams.
  • Monitor repairs from initial report through to completion.
  • Support the team in ensuring cases are managed in line with Awaab’s Law requirements and statutory timescales.
  • Track outstanding jobs and proactively chase overdue inspections, works and actions.
  • Maintain accurate records and update systems to ensure cases are progressed and closed correctly.
  • Identify delays or issues within the repairs process and escape where appropriate.
  • Ensure repairs are managed in line with relevant processes, service standards and statutory timescales.
  • Provide general administrative and coordination support to the housing repairs team.
About You
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
  • Confident managing a busy workload and multiple deadlines.
  • Proactive in monitoring cases and following up outstanding actions.
  • Comfortable using databases, email inboxes and administrative systems.
  • A clear and confident communicator.
  • Reliable and able to work consistently from the office.
  • Experienced in administration, repairs coordination, housing or a similar process-driven environment.
  • Ideally experienced within a local authority or social housing environment, although this is not essential.
  • Willing to learn about damp and mould, Awaab’s Law and housing repairs processes.
Contract & Working Hours
  • Temporary to permanent opportunity
  • Initial temporary period with a permanent position after 12 weeks
  • Location: Stockport
  • Hybrid working
