Job description

A Lloyd's Managing Agency has a new opening for a Senior Reinsurance Technician. Responsibilities will include handling all aspects of reinsurance, including Proportional Treaty/Non Proportional Treaty/Excess of Loss/Facultative business.

The successful applicant will have previous experience in the reinsurance industry. London Market reinsurance experience would be preferred but not a must. You will be delivery oriented, motivated to succeed, and energized. A capacity to learn is imperative and initiative is highly valued. This will be a hybrid role.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Create reinsurance risks using their systems, ensuring policy terms are accurately recorded and maintained.
2. Ensure reinsurance premium and related expenses are correctly booked, advised, and settled under Contractual Terms.
3. Ensure the timely and accurate calculation and issuance of reinsurance recoveries for both paid claims and outstanding reserves, responding to any query within five working days of receipt. Accurately record all reinsurance recoveries in core systems.
4. Develop strong relationships with team members across the business as well as externally, to expedite receipt of reinsurance funds.
5. Support the Actuarial and Finance teams in all aspects of financial reporting. Provide insightful MI and data analytics.
6. Satisfy all internal and external reporting requirements, in accordance with deadlines.
7. Raise material issues on a timely basis and supervise through to resolution.
8. Demonstrate a clear understanding of the reinsurance process and internal controls which are in place to support it, including, but not limited to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX).
