Job description

Oliver James is currently recruiting for a Senior Reinsurance Technician with one of our clients in London. This is a permanent position where you will work directly with the Head of Reinsurance and Reinsurance Manager.

Requirements for this role include:

• Experience working in an insurance company; experience in both insurance and brokerage will be considered.
• Strong knowledge of inwards and outwards reinsurance.
• Experience with accounting General Ledger systems; SUN knowledge is preferred.
• Understanding of regulatory reporting such as CAA and Solvency II.
• Ability to communicate financial and non-financial findings effectively.

Key responsibilities include:

• Creating presentations for internal and external stakeholders, including brokers and reinsurers.
• Leading and coordinating the production of market standard questionnaires for purchasing and renewing insurance and reinsurance programs, liaising with stakeholders.
• Acting as a business partner with brokers, reinsurers, and insurers for managing large loss claims, credit control, and premium adjustments.
• Reviewing claims data to ensure reporting criteria are met, including reinsurance reporting.
• Supporting the Head of Reinsurance and Reinsurance Manager in executing and implementing reinsurance programs to protect solvency and reduce capital costs.
• Owning the Reinsurance Technical Database, managing contracts, monthly claims recovery reports, credit rating monitoring, collection requests, and MI reporting.
• Supporting finance projects such as IFRS 17 and process improvements to enhance reporting accuracy and timeliness.
• Leading reinsurance data preparation for internal and regulatory reporting across Europe, including SII, CAA, PRA, and internal reports.
