Overview

Mill Garth is looking to recruit a Senior Registered Mental Health Nurse to join the team. This is a full time role of 37.5 hours per week.

Based in Leeds, West Yorkshire, Priory Hospital Mill Garth is a level 2 rehabilitation service for adult males. We support people with a range of mental health disorders. We believe that anyone with a mental health condition should be given the best chance possible to lead a happy and fulfilling life, and our aim is to provide individuals with the confidence and skills to move or return to the community.

What you'll be doing

You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients’ wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients.

  • Deliver prescribed care to a defined group of patients/Service users that reflect their individual needs
  • Assess, plan and deliver nursing care with the patient and their carer/family, taking account of patient choice and wishes, and acting as the patient’s named nurse. This includes the evaluation and review of these plans with the patient on a frequent basis that is reflective of their needs
  • Contribute to a team approach to patient care in conjunction with all members of the Multi-Disciplinary team
  • Build relationships and effectively communicate and engage with external professionals and stakeholders
What you’ll bring to the role

  • Qualified Registered Adult Nurse with 6-12 months post-registration experience with active NMC Registration and completed preceptorship or equivalent programme. Knowledge of NMC standards guidelines, requests and professional practices.
  • Evidence of post-registration continuing professional development.
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude and commitment to change, improvement and quality. Ability to develop and use flexible and innovative approaches to practice.
