Job summary

Bristol City Council is recruiting a Senior Reablement Support Assistant to join the city-wide Reablement Service. You will supervise reablement support assistants and manage the care element of service users' time, helping people leave hospital earlier and maintain independence.

The role offers full induction, ongoing training, Enhanced DBS check, uniform, PPE and a mobile phone for work, with flexible working, LGPS, and generous annual leave.

Qualifications

• Experience providing care and support to vulnerable adults in the community.
• NVQ/QCF Level 3 or equivalent qualification, or willingness to undertake it in post.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience supervising, supporting, or motivating colleagues.
• Ability to carry out assessments, set goals, and review progress with service users at home.
• A flexible and proactive approach to changing priorities and needs.
• Confidence working independently and within a team, with good IT skills for digital systems.

We are looking for Senior Reablement Support Assistant to join an established team within the city-wide Reablement Service.

You will be part of the process that supports people to leave hospital earlier, after an illness or fall which has affected their confidence and ability to carry out the activities of daily living.

We work with people for a period of up to 42 days to promote their confidence and maximise their independence. You will be supervising reablement support assistants and managing the care element of the service users time with the service.

What do I need to have?

• Experience providing care and support to vulnerable adults within the community.
• An NVQ/QCF Level 3 qualification (or equivalent), or a willingness to undertake and complete this qualification whilst in post.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience of supervising, supporting, or motivating colleagues.
• The ability to carry out assessments, set goals, and review progress with service users in their own homes.
• A flexible and proactive approach to changing priorities and individual needs.
• Confidence working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Good IT skills, including the ability to use and support others in using digital systems and technology.

Please note a valid driving licence, access to a motorised vehicle, and willingness to obtain relevant vehicle business insurance are vital. Be aware that Bristol is subject to Clean Air Zone regulations, which means that older and more polluting vehicles may be charged for travelling into the city.
