Job summary

Binnies, part of the RSK Group, is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to take ownership of commercial management on civil infrastructure projects within the UK water sector. You will lead contract administration, cost control and procurement to maximise commercial performance.

You will collaborate with project managers, engineers and clients, mentor junior staff, and ensure governance and reporting processes are followed across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or significant equivalent industry experience.
• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering, utilities or infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge and practical experience of NEC contracts.

Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial and quantity surveying activities across allocated projects from tender through to final account.
• Interpret contract requirements and manage the commercial obligations, responsibilities and liabilities of all parties.
• Manage contractual correspondence, notices, compensation events, variations and claims to protect the commercial position.
• Develop and deliver project procurement strategies aligned with programme delivery.
• Lead subcontract procurement, including tender enquiries, bid evaluations, negotiations and subcontract preparation.
• Manage subcontractor accounts, including valuations, payments, variations and final accounts.
• Produce accurate commercial reporting including CVRs, internal valuations, margin forecasts, cash flow and turnover reports.
