Job summary

Binnies is offering a Graduate Quantity Surveyor opportunity within the @one Alliance, East of England. You will learn across commercial management on a live project, supporting delivery and construction teams, and gaining practical experience in cost control and subcontract management.

Reporting to the Project Commercial Manager, you will contribute to efficiencies, procurement strategies and cost reporting while developing professional skills in a collaborative, water industry environment.

Qualifications

• A degree-level qualification (or equivalent) in an engineering, management or cost-related discipline.
• A CSCS card.
• Extensive IT knowledge, particularly Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent communication skills.
• A strong team player who enjoys working collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Working collaboratively with delivery teams to identify, implement and monitor efficiencies.
• Working closely with construction teams and regularly attending site.
• Supporting the application of commercial procedures and procurement strategies.
• Assisting with the preparation and management of subcontracts, ensuring they reflect agreed scopes and contractual requirements.
• Supporting the management of contractual processes, including communications, payments, early warnings, compensation events and programme submissions.
• Developing your understanding of commercial and cost management across projects and programmes.
• Supporting effective cost control, maximising value and minimising future liabilities.
• Developing your commercial awareness and understanding of contractual arrangements.
• Ensuring commercial records are maintained and readily available for cost assurance and audits.
• Supporting Quantity Surveyors with Final Accounts.
• Working to achieve efficiencies while maintaining compliance with Alliance and Anglian Water governance procedures.
