Novax Recruitment Ltd is representing a permanent, full-time Quantity Surveyor role based in Leicestershire. The successful candidate will oversee the commercial performance of major structural steelwork projects from tender through to final account.

Responsibilities include preparing estimates and cash-flow forecasts, pricing from drawings, administering NEC/ JCT contracts, managing variations and final accounts, and leading cost-to-complete reviews with project teams.

Formación

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within structural steelwork or heavy engineering.
• Experience administering NEC contracts (NEC3/NEC4).
• Ability to interpret general arrangement drawings and produce accurate measurements and costings.
• Understanding of fabrication methods, steel procurement, erection sequences and cost drivers.
• Experience managing variations, claims, subcontractor negotiations and final accounts.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare tender estimates, detailed costings and cash-flow forecasts for structural steelwork packages.
• Measure and price steelwork from drawings and project documentation.
• Administer NEC/ JCT contracts where applicable.
• Manage variations, compensation events, claims and final accounts to ensure proper valuation.
• Lead cost-to-complete reviews with project managers and identify commercial risks.
• Maintain cost reports, forecasts and risk registers for decision-making.
• Identify value-engineering opportunities to improve efficiency while maintaining quality, safety and programme.
• Negotiate subcontractor packages and material supply agreements to secure terms and manage cost exposure.
• Collaborate with fabrication, erection and site teams to monitor costs and progress.
• Share knowledge with junior commercial team members.
