Job summary

Novax Recruitment Ltd seeks a Senior Quantity Surveyor for structural steel projects across the UK. You will assume full commercial responsibility from award to final account, driving value, margins and robust reporting.

You will collaborate with PMs, estimators, engineers and site teams to safeguard commercial outcomes on technically demanding steel packages. You will review contracts, manage variations and payments, and lead proactive commercial risk management while ensuring timely closes of

Qualifications

• Significant experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor in UK construction.
• Experience managing live construction projects from contract award through final account.
• Strong cost control, forecasting and commercial reporting skills.
• Experience handling variations, valuations, applications for payment and final accounts.
• Strong contract administration and negotiation abilities.
• Experience managing subcontractors and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Take full commercial responsibility for allocated projects from contract award to completion and final account.
• Establish and maintain project budgets, cost plans and commercial controls.
• Prepare CVRs, cost reports and cash-flow forecasts.
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities early.
• Provide regular commercial reporting to senior management.
• Work with Project Managers and operations to meet commercial objectives.
• Identify value engineering and cost-saving opportunities.
• Review contract documents for key commercial obligations.
• Protect the company's entitlements and manage variations and claims.
• Prepare and negotiate payment applications and client valuations.
