Job summary

VolkerStevin is seeking an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to take commercial responsibility for multiple projects, leading the commercial team and driving value through NEC contract knowledge. The role offers a clear path toward Commercial Manager and involves site visits with flexible working options.

You will review contracts, manage subcontracts, and support the bid and pre-construction process while maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring project profitability.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Managing QS on major projects.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Knowledge of NEC contracts and commercial strategy.
• Degree in QS with professional accreditation (RICS/CIOB preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lead all commercial and contractual aspects across multiple projects, reporting to the Commercial Manager.
• Prepare procurement schedules and ensure tender handover is thorough.
• Manage subcontracts in accordance with policy and budget, supporting risk management.
• Maintain client relationships and provide monthly cash flow and final accounts forecasts.
• Ensure post-construction reviews, final accounts, and defect rectification are completed promptly.
• Provide guidance to the commercial team and monitor programme awareness on site.
