Job summary

VolkerStevin part of VolkerWessels UK is seeking an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial activity across multiple projects and develop towards a Commercial Manager role. You will oversee tendering, procurement, subcontract management and client relationships to maximise project value.

The role requires NEC contract knowledge, strong leadership, and a QS degree with professional accreditation.

Qualifications

• Must have extensive experience as a Managing QS.
• Strong leadership and clear communication.
• Knowledge of NEC contracts is essential.
• Degree in QS with relevant professional accreditation (RICS/CIOB preferred).

Responsibilities

• Tender review and bid input; manage risk and profitability.
• Pre-construction planning and procurement scheduling.
• Subcontract management and commercial governance.
• Client liaison and maintaining commercial relationships.
• Lead the commercial team; monitor projects' financial performance.
• Post-contract reviews and final account closure.
