Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead cost management on Defence projects in the UK. You will establish client and team relationships, administer NEC3 contracts, monitor budgets and forecasts, and drive value engineering across complex programmes.

The role requires SC clearance and a hybrid working arrangement with client sites and offices. You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to manage changes, cash flow, and final accounts while maintaining governance

Qualifications

• Qualification in Estimating, Quantity Surveying or Cost Engineering
• Experience in the Infrastructure sector (Rail, air, power, highways)
• Contract Management (NEC3 preferred)
• Change management

• Commission management
• Excellent MS Office skills (Excel/Word/PowerPoint)
• Strong written and verbal communication in a client-facing environment
• Chartered status or degree-level education preferred
• Experience in early stage estimating in Defence Infrastructure programmes
• Familiarity with industry-standard estimating software

Responsibilities

• Establishing friendly, professional relationships with clients, colleagues and other parties involved in the projects and programmes we support.
• Administering a variety of contracts in accordance with project objectives and policies.
• Providing accurate project cost monitoring, forecasting and reporting to completion in line with budget.
• Pro-actively monitoring and managing cost variance and contract cash flow and ensuring applications are made correctly and on time.
• Collaborating with client and contractor teams to manage delivery of project deliverables, KPIs and objectives including programme performance, cost control and value engineering.
• Managing contract change effectively, ensuring projects remain within governance and adopt best practice.
• Driving improvements in forecast and budget accuracy.
• Providing sound commercial knowledge and support to all stakeholders.
• Ensuring final accounts are negotiated and agreed.
• Commission management as needed
