Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking a proactive Quantity Surveyor to support Defence sector programmes in the UK. You will work on a range of client projects across the South East, South West and Midlands, delivering cost control, estimates and commercial governance within our defence-focused teams.

You will contribute to cost modelling and reporting, ensuring projects stay within budget while maintaining high professional standards.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Estimating, Quantity Surveying or Cost Engineering.
• Experience in Infrastructure sectors (rail, air, power, highways).
• Proven ability to compile, assure and deliver complex estimates and cost models.
• Experience in an integrated Project Controls team and public procurement.
• Excellent MS Office skills and strong client-facing communication.

Responsibilities

• Establish professional relationships with clients and project teams.
• Administer contracts in line with project objectives.
• Provide accurate cost monitoring, forecasting and reporting.
• Monitor cost variance and cash flow; ensure timely applications.
• Collaborate with client and contractor teams on KPIs and value engineering.
• Support negotiation of final accounts and change management.
• Work independently or in a team with limited supervision.
• Promote estimating best practices within Turner & Townsend.
