Job summary

Cumming Group UK & Europe is recruiting a Quantity Surveyor to join our Manchester team. This hands-on, client-facing role involves developing cost plans, managing budgets, and supporting project delivery from feasibility to completion.

You will work with clients and project teams to drive value, apply JCT/NEC contracts, and grow your career within a collaborative, high-performance culture at Cumming Group.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction, Engineering, or similar.
• MRICS (or working towards) preferred.
• 2–5 years' experience in cost management or consultancy.
• Good knowledge of JCT contracts; NEC contracts a benefit.
• Exposure to pre- and post-contract stages.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of cost management tasks on your projects.
• Prepare and deliver cost plans, budgets, and reporting.
• Manage valuations, forecasts, and financial performance.
• Assist with contract administration (JCT / NEC).
• Act as a client contact, building strong working relationships.
• Provide clear, confident commercial advice.
• Work closely with project teams to drive successful outcomes.
• Support procurement, tendering, and contractor selection.
• Contribute to business development and bids.
• Collaborate with junior team members and grow the team.
