£70,000-£90,000 | Full-time, office-based (5 days per week)

A reputable regional main contractor who have been operating for over 30 years is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their thriving commercial team in Bishop's Stortford. You'll oversee a portfolio of refurbishment, build and fit‑out projects typically ranging from £500k‑£5m, working with a steady pipeline of long‑term, reliable clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the commercial delivery of multiple live projects simultaneously
  • Oversee monthly valuations, cost reporting and cashflow forecasting
  • Lead subcontract procurement, assessment and payment processes
  • Monitor project financial performance and identify risk/opportunity
  • Prepare and negotiate variations and final accounts
  • Ensure compliance with contract conditions and company procedures
  • Work closely with site teams to track progress and maintain commercial control
  • Build strong relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partners
  • Contribute to commercial strategy and help maintain healthy project margins
  • Attend regular progress meetings and provide clear commercial updates
  • Review and approve subcontractor applications and change orders
  • Support programme delivery by resolving commercial issues promptly
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and audit‑ready records
