Job summary

Gold Group seeks a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial management on a prestigious water framework in the Manchester area. The role focuses on NEC contract administration, robust financial control, and effective subcontract management within a tier 1 infrastructure environment.

You will forecast, report, and manage risks while mentoring junior team members and maintaining strong client relationships to ensure value and compliance across projects.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
• Experience with main contractor environments, utilities, water, or civil engineering preferred.
• Strong knowledge of NEC contracts.

Senior Quantity Surveyor - Water Framework

Location: Manchester Area / NW UK

Salary: £50,000 to £65,000 + package

I'm working with one of the UK's most respected infrastructure contractors, who have an excellent track record delivering essential works in the water sector. With a strong pipeline of work secured through their long‑term framework with United Utilities, they are looking to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team based near to Manchester.

The Role

As Senior QS, you'll take responsibility for the commercial management of projects within the framework, ensuring best value and compliance with NEC contracts. You'll be working closely with the operations team to provide robust financial and contractual control, manage subcontractors, and ensure accurate forecasting and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Full commercial management of projects on the United Utilities framework.
• Administering NEC contracts and managing subcontract packages.
• Preparing valuations, variations, and cost reports.
• Providing accurate forecasting and risk management.
• Supporting and mentoring junior commercial staff.
• Building strong relationships with client representatives and internal stakeholders.

About You

• Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
