Job summary

Matchtech is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a Manchester-based role within an integrated design and build provider in the water sector. You will take responsibility for commercial management of projects, reporting to the Commercial Manager, with hybrid working and opportunities to lead a small team.

Key duties include cost control across packages, subcontract administration, NEC3/4 contract governance, and collaboration with design and construction teams to deliver client requirements.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent qualification.
• Working towards or have chartered membership of a recognised institution.
• Experience in utilities or construction sectors.
• Experience with NEC3/4 contracts.
• Experience managing and developing an individual or small team.

Responsibilities

• Undertake quantity surveying duties in managing projects and work packages.
• Liaise with design, construction, and supply chain teams to capture, analyse, and control costs.
• Collaborate with the client to ensure business requirements are met.
• Manage the main contract, ensuring contractual notices and correspondence as necessary.
• Prepare and issue subcontract documentation.
• Assist in the management and performance of subcontractors.
• Manage the preparation and agreement of applications for payment.
• Prepare project cost & value reports, budgets, and forecasts.
• Assist in the management and development of junior commercial staff.

Our client, an integrated design and build provider in the water sector, is currently seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Commercial team. This permanent role offers the opportunity to take responsibility for the Commercial Management of Projects, reporting directly to the Commercial Manager.
