Job summary

Matchtech Group, on behalf of a client in the water sector, is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial team in Manchester. The role oversees commercial management of projects, reporting to the Commercial Manager, with responsibility for cost control and subcontract management.

The ideal candidate holds a degree or equivalent qualification, is working towards or is chartered, and has NEC3/4 contracts experience within utilities or construction.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent qualification is required or expected.
• Experience with NEC3/4 contracts is essential.
• Experience in utilities or construction sectors is preferred.
• Experience in managing and developing a small team is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Undertake quantity surveying duties in managing projects and work packages.
• Liaise with design, construction, and supply chain teams to capture, analyse, and control costs.
• Collaborate with the client to ensure business requirements are met.
• Manage the main contract, ensuring contractual notices and correspondence as necessary.
• Prepare and issue subcontract documentation.
• Assist in the management and performance of subcontractors.
• Manage the preparation and agreement of applications for payment.
• Prepare project cost & value reports, budgets, and forecasts.
• Assist in the management and development of junior commercial staff.

Our client, an integrated design and build provider in the water sector, is currently seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Commercial team. This permanent role offers the opportunity to take responsibility for the Commercial Management of Projects, reporting directly to the Commercial Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

• Undertake quantity surveying duties in managing projects and work packages

Job Requirements:
