Job summary

Up Front Recruitment invites applications for a Senior Quantity Surveyor in the civil engineering/remediation sector. Based in Cardiff with UK-wide site travel, the role combines hands-on commercial delivery with close collaboration with project teams.

The successful candidate will manage costs, contracts and CVRs across complex remediation and civil works, supported by a legacy contractor with 30+ years in the industry. This is a full-time permanent position with strong growth potential.

Qualifications

• Strong practical commercial background with ownership of live projects.
• Experience with NEC and JCT forms of contract.
• Experience managing projects from tender through final account.
• Knowledge of CVRs, cost reporting, valuations and changes.
• Willingness to travel to UK live project sites.

Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial delivery from tender to final account.
• Prepare cost plans, budgets and monthly reports (CVRs).
• Prepare payment applications and valuations.
• Manage subcontract procurement, payments, variations and final accounts.
• Administer NEC and JCT contracts on projects.
• Identify risks, opportunities and compensation events.
• Site measurement and valuation of works.
• Build relationships with clients, subcontractors and internal teams.
• Monitor costs, margins and project performance.
• Support month-end reporting and pre-construction estimates.
