Job summary

SEDR Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead the commercial delivery of remediation and enabling works projects across the UK, with remote/hybrid working and travel to sites as required.

You will manage cost plans, CVRs, valuations and final accounts, and administer NEC and JCT contracts, working closely with Project Managers and site teams to drive profitable delivery and strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• Senior Quantity Surveyor with civil engineering/remediation experience.
• Experience handling NEC and JCT contracts.
• Commercial responsibility from tender to final account.
• Degree or HND in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.

Senior Quantity Surveyor - Remediation & Enabling Works

Location: Remote / hybrid, with UK travel and occasional overnight stays as required

Salary: £75,000 - £85,000

We are recruiting an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor for a specialist remediation and brownfield enabling works contractor delivering projects across the UK.

This opportunity offers flexibility to work from home, with attendance at office and site meetings when required. Candidates must be willing to travel and lodge away from home as project requirements dictate.

The role

You will manage the commercial delivery of remediation and enabling works projects from tender through to final account. Working closely with Project Managers and site teams, you will control costs, administer contracts and support profitable delivery while maintaining strong client relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Manage commercial project delivery from tender through to final account.
• Prepare cost plans, budgets, forecasts and monthly commercial reports, including Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs).
• Prepare and agree applications for payment, valuations and final accounts.
• Manage subcontract procurement, payments, variations and final accounts.
• Administer NEC and JCT contracts.
• Identify and manage commercial risks, opportunities, compensation events and contractual changes.
• Work with operational teams to monitor costs and improve commercial performance.
• Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and internal teams.

What we're looking for

• Proven Senior Quantity Surveyor experience within civil engineering, remediation or a similar construction environment.
• Strong practical experience of both NEC and JCT contracts.
• Experience taking commercial responsibility for projects from tender through to final account.
• Confidence managing CVRs, forecasting, valuations, subcontract accounts and change control.
• Strong commercial judgement, negotiation and communication skills.
• The ability to work independently while maintaining close contact with project teams.
• A degree or HND in Quantity Surveying, or equivalent experience.
• A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel and stay overnight as required.
