Qualifications

  • Qualified accountant with public sector audit experience.
  • Knowledge of Local Authority Accounts Act 2014 and National Audit Code.
  • Strong written communication and analytical skills.
  • Confident stakeholder and relationship management.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex matters simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the management and resolution of complaints relating to local audit work with robust, evidence-based responses.
  • Manage end-to-end local elector objections process and issue well-reasoned decisions.
  • Act as a point of contact for whistleblowing disclosures and coordinate investigations.
  • Respond to matters raised by electors under auditing standards and the National Audit Code; coordinate follow-up within statutory timescales.
