Job summary

University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust seeks a Senior Programme Manager for Operational Performance to lead major regional cancer transformation across multiple organisations in the East Midlands. You will drive delivery, governance and performance improvement, working with NHS England and regional partners.

The role requires exceptional leadership, strategic planning, and strong financial oversight to improve patient outcomes and service delivery.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent experience required.
• Significant experience leading large-scale transformation programmes within the NHS or similarly complex organisations.
• Extensive knowledge of programme management, governance and operational performance.
• Exceptional leadership, negotiation and influencing skills.
• Experience developing long-term strategic plans and translating policy into delivery.
• Strong financial management skills, including oversight of significant programme budgets.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of complex regional cancer transformation programmes across the East Midlands.
• Provide executive leadership for cancer performance improvement, including Cancer Waiting Times.
• Oversee governance, assurance, programme risks and delivery milestones.
• Develop and implement operational performance improvement strategies.
• Collaborate with NHS England, Integrated Care Boards, and provider Trusts to deliver sustainable improvements.
