Job summary

University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Operations and Performance Manager to drive cancer centre performance, patient flow and service improvement. You will lead MDT and administrative teams and translate complex data into actionable decisions to improve cancer pathways.

The role requires significant NHS management experience, a track record in project delivery and strong leadership to meet national cancer standards and improve patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a first degree or equivalent experience.
• Evidence of continuing personal development.
• Track record of working in a multi-disciplinary team.
• Significant NHS management experience.
• Staff management and supervision of a team.
• Experience introducing new ways of working.
• Experience in project management and meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage administrative and MDT teams within the cancer centre and MDT team.
• Deliver appraisal and oversee mandatory training requirements for all staff.
• Assist in validation of cancer performance management to ensure adherence to waiting times guidance.
• Support governance including audit, complaints, incidents, risk and health and safety.
• Be responsible to Cancer Centre Manager for financial performance of delegated budgets and operational performance of the MDT team.
• Represent the Cancer Centre Manager as required.
