Job description

As a Packing Senior Operator, you will assist the Packing Supervisor in managing and coordinating all resources to ensure the packing of products runs smoothly, safely, and efficiently. You will help maintain quality, reduce wastage, and ensure the team is motivated and trained.

The Working Hours: (You'll be required to work on both shifts on a rotational basis)
  • Early Shift - Mon to Fri 06:00 to 14:00 (£14.53 per hour)
  • Late Shift - Mon to Thurs 13:45 to 23:45 (£16.42 per hour)
Key Responsibilities:
  • Health & Safety: Ensure all food safety checks and health & safety policies are followed and report any issues to QA.
  • Team Management: Manage and train the packing team, helping them stay motivated and develop new skills.
  • Operations: Ensure packing operations run according to the plan, hitting targets while maintaining quality and safety.
  • Process Control: Collect and manage data to monitor the packing process. Ensure all documentation is up-to-date and shared with the relevant teams.
  • Product Quality: Ensure products meet customer and audit requirements, following the agreed quality standards.
  • Cost Management: Help control costs and minimize wastage in the packing area.
  • Reporting: Track KPIs and report any issues when targets are not met.
Skills & Experience:
Essential:
  • Computer literate.
  • Strong planning and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
Desirable:
  • Experience with BRC and customer audits.
  • Experience with SAP software.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing.
  • Stock control experience.
