Job summary

Stantec in the UK is seeking a Senior Principal Process Engineer – Clean Water to lead strategic process design across major infrastructure and treatment programmes. You will guide projects from early feasibility and optioneering through detailed design, delivery and operational optimisation, delivering robust, safe and sustainable water solutions.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience leading clean water projects and teams.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and client relationship skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and assurance of clean water treatment designs (calcs, mass balances, specs).
• Provide technical authority on treatment processes: clarification, filtration, disinfection.
• Guide upgrades and resilience schemes for water treatment works and assets.
• Oversee assessments of drinking water quality, performance and supply security.
• Provide senior technical oversight across multidisciplinary projects.
• Support feasibility studies, optioneering, design reviews and commissioning.
• Build trusted client relationships and advise on investment for asset performance.
• Lead and mentor engineers; strengthen standards and succession planning.
• Contribute to bids, framework delivery and expansion of the clean water portfolio.
• Champion innovation and low‑carbon solutions across projects.
