Job summary

Stantec in the UK is looking for a Senior Principal Process Engineer – Clean Water to lead design and delivery across major water infrastructure projects. The role spans feasibility, optioneering through to detailed design and operational optimisation, with responsibility for technical authority on treatment processes and regulatory compliance.

You will guide capacity upgrades, asset resilience, and performance improvements while mentoring engineers and building strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven ability to lead complex clean water design and delivery projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and assurance of clean water treatment process designs, including calculations and specifications.
• Provide technical authority on treatment processes and regulatory compliance.
• Guide capacity upgrades, asset replacement and resilience schemes for water treatment works.
• Oversee technical assessments on water quality, performance and supply security.
• Provide senior technical oversight across multidisciplinary projects and ensure safe, robust solutions.
• Support feasibility studies, optioneering, investment planning, design reviews and commissioning.
• Build and maintain client relationships, advising on treatment challenges and long-term asset performance.
• Lead and mentor engineers, strengthen technical standards and succession planning.
• Contribute to business development, bids and framework delivery.
