Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Principal Process Engineer – Clean Water to lead and shape clean water process engineering across major UK infrastructure and treatment programmes. You will guide process solutions from feasibility to detailed design, delivering robust, sustainable water treatment capabilities.

You will influence investment decisions, mentor engineers and help expand Stantec’s clean water portfolio across the UK.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience leading clean water process design teams is desirable.
• Strong technical leadership and client relationship skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and assurance of clean water treatment process designs, including calculations and specifications.
• Provide technical authority on treatment processes such as clarification, filtration and disinfection.
• Guide the development and optimisation of water treatment works, including capacity upgrades and resilience schemes.
• Oversee technical assessments relating to drinking water quality, treatment performance and supply security.
• Provide senior technical oversight across multidisciplinary projects, ensuring safe and robust solutions.
• Support feasibility studies, optioneering, investment planning, design reviews and commissioning.
• Build trusted client relationships and provide strategic advice on treatment challenges and asset performance.
• Lead and mentor engineers, strengthen standards and support succession planning.
• Contribute to bids, framework delivery and expansion of clean water portfolio.
• Champion innovation and low‑carbon solutions across clean water process engineering.
